Frisco, Tx-The Pleasant Grove Hawks baseball team outscored the West Plains Wolves 10-3 at Rough Rigder Stadium in Frisco Thursday in game 1 of the state semifinal 3-game series. The Hawks are now just 1 win away from returning to the state final which they won 5 years ago in 2021.
Hunter Rose was the winning pitcher for the Hawks. Rose pitched 6 1/3 innings allowing 4 hits, 3 runs (1 earned) striking out 7 and walking two. Ben Carpenter pitched the final 2/3’s of the final inning allowing no hits and striking out one.
Hunter Rose was just as impressive at the plate
Rose (Hunter) was 3-for-3 with a triple, double and 4 RBI.
Pleasant Grove had 13 hits total. Jace Elrod was 2-for-3 with a triple. Christian May went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI. Walker Wright was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Blue Rose was 1-for-3 and Trevor Henderschott was 2-for-two. Landon Fincher was 1-for-4 and Spencer Browning had an RBI.
Game 2 of the three-game series will be in Frisco Friday at Noon and game 3 if necessary, would be Friday at 3 p.m.
