TEXARKANA, TX — February 9, 2026 — The Digital Academy of Texas has officially earned Leader in Me Lighthouse School certification, marking it as the seventh school within Texarkana Independent School District to achieve this honor.
Leader in Me is a nationally recognized school improvement model developed by FranklinCovey Education that focuses on leadership development, positive culture, and academic excellence. To earn Lighthouse designation, schools must demonstrate strong results in implementing the framework and fostering student leadership.
Certification reflects dedication
According to the school’s principal, Megan Goldsmith, the certification reflects the dedication of both staff and students in creating an environment where students feel empowered and supported in their learning.
The Digital Academy of Texas joins six other district campuses with Lighthouse status:
• Martha & Josh Morriss Mathematics & Engineering Elementary
• Nash Elementary
• Parks Elementary
• Theron Jones Early Literacy Center
• Waggoner Creek Elementary
• Wake Village Elementary
As part of the recognition, the school received a Lighthouse Review Report and an official emblem for district communications. The campus will begin recertification efforts ahead of the 2027–2028 school year.
