Kalamazoo College downed the Austin College Kangaroos 14-10 in the season opener Saturday at Apple Stadium in Sherman, Texas.
The Roos stormed to a 10-0 lead.
Austin College’s only touchdown was a three-yard touchdown run by Barrett Hudson that capped off an 80 yard first quarter drive. The Roos added a field goal and led 10-0 going into the second quarter.
The Roos were held scoreless the rest of the game
Kalamazoo scored 14 unanswered points to claim the victory.
The Kangaroos were led on offense by quarterback Jaylon Talton, receiver Michael Cress and running back Hudson.
Talton completed 14-of-21 passes for 136 yards and added a team-best 50 rushing yards on eight attempts.
Cress caught seven passes for 81 yards and Hudson rushed 22 times for 44 yards and a score.

Pablo Cantu and Eliel Sandoval led the Roos on Defense . Cantu had 12 tackles. Sandoval had had 11 tackles and a sack.
The Austin College Kangaroos next game is Saturday August 13th on the road at Rhodes. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m.
