TEXARKANA, Texas (Texas News Sports) — Texarkana Texas Police Department announced that a Queen City man has been arrested on multiple felony charges following an investigation led by the department.
According to Texarkana Texas police, Jeffrey Parker, 63, was taken into custody Thursday in Cass County by Texas Department of Public Safety on warrants issued by the department. Police said Parker is a special education teacher at Pleasant Grove Independent School District.
There were multiple charges
Texarkana Texas police said the charges include Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Disabled Person and three counts of Improper Relationship between an Educator and Student.
Authorities stated that Jake Klar, police chief for the Pleasant Grove ISD Police Department, contacted Texarkana Texas police on Monday after receiving an anonymous tip. Investigators said Detective Tabitha Smith developed evidence supporting the allegations and obtained arrest warrants.
Police said Parker is currently being held in the Cass County Jail and is expected to be transferred to the Bi-State Jail in the coming days.
Texarkana Texas police emphasized that the case remains an active and ongoing investigation and expressed appreciation for the assistance and cooperation of the Pleasant Grove ISD Police Department.
