TEXARKANA, Texas — Big Jake’s BBQ announced the death of longtime employee Stevon B. Smith, remembering him as a valued team member whose dedication and positive spirit left a lasting impact on the company.
In a social media post, Big Jake’s BBQ said Smith began working at its Richmond Road location about nine years ago before transferring to the restaurant’s Arkansas Boulevard location. The company said he quickly advanced through the ranks because of his work ethic and commitment.
Big Jake’s BBQ described Smith as “a shining star” whose joyful personality and larger-than-life presence made him a beloved member of the team.
The restaurant said it was proud to call Smith part of its family and that he would be “missed beyond measure.”
Big Jakes asks that you keep Stevon’s family in your prayers.
The company asked the community to keep Smith’s family in their prayers, noting that he was a son, brother, uncle and friend.
“Thank you for your service to us, Stevon. May you rest in peace,” the company said in its post.
Funeral arrangements for Stevon are pending at Lyles Funeral home,3809 E. Broad Street in Texarkana, Ark.
