Hunt County Deputy Named American Legion Law Enforcement Officer of the Year

HUNT COUNTY, Texas — The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office announced that Deputy Ronny Crain has been selected as the 2026 American Legion Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.

According to the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Crain brought nearly 25 years of prior law enforcement experience with him when he joined the agency in 2024. The sheriff’s office said Crain has quickly become an important member of the department’s SWAT team and Field Training Officer Program.

The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Crain has worked hard to improve the agency and support fellow deputies during his time with the department.

Officials encouraged the community to congratulate Deputy Crain on receiving the honor.
