MCKINNEY, Texas -The Mckinney Police department said that they are investigating an alleged double homicide and officer Involved Shooting Following a Welfare Check.
The McKinney Police department said that on December 28, 2025, at approximately 9:56 a.m., their officers responded to a residence in the 5300 block of Dunster Drive to conduct a welfare check.
Family members requested the check after not hearing from the residents for several days, Mckinney Police said.
The McKinney Police department said that their officers made entry into the residence through the rear door and immediately located two adult homicide victims in the living room.
Victims were identified
The deceased have been identified as Leonard Ragan, 73, and Jackie Ragan, 72, The Mckinney Police Department said.
While continuing to clear the residence, authorities said that officers located Bryce Ragan, 34, inside a bedroom armed with a firearm.

Two officers discharged their weapons, striking Ragan multiple times, the McKinney Police department reported. McKinney Police said that their officers immediately rendered lifesaving aid until emergency medical services arrived. Police said that Ragan was transported by EMS to a local area hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
No officers were injured during the incident
The McKinney Police department said that no officers were injured during the incident.
“This is an active investigation, and there is no ongoing threat to the public,” McKinney Police said.
